Multi Span Polytunnels

Polybuild have been manufacturing and marketing horticultural tunnel structures for over 35 years and have established a well-deserved reputation for supplying the most robust, high quality polythene tunnels on the market. The main features of our tunnels are:

  • Strong and Durable – All parts are manufactures to cope with the increased wind and snow loadings that are becoming common in the UK.
  • Standard Tunnel Widths – Single span tunnels of 3m, 3.6m, 4.3m, 5m, 6.4m, 7.3m, 8m, 9m and 10m wide are available.
  • Custom Design Sizes – We can also design and manufacture any size Polytunnel to suit your requirements.
  • Bracing – CAD designed to ensure that each structure is braced to transmit loadings to ground level.

Polytunnels – Straight Vertical Sides

All horticultural tunnels are available with straight vertical sides up to 1.2 meters (4 feet) to allow internal access right up to the sides.

In addition, most of our poly tunnel structures are available with straight vertical sides to at least 2.5 meters topped with either side or valley aluminium gutters. This gives you the benefit of an increased air volume which will act as a buffer when there are sudden temperature changes as well as enabling you to harvest rain water for later use.

  • Designed and manufactured in the UK
  • Single span tunnels from 3m to 10m wide
  • Hoop spacings are variable (1.25m to 2.5m) dependent on weather conditions for the area in which the structure is to be erected
  • All steel fully galvanised inside and out using high tensile Z35 industrial quality steel. We also use a thicker steel than many of our competitors
  • Cladding: A whole range of polythene, flame retardant PVC and woven materials
  • End frames are constructed of timber or a combination of steel and aluminium
  • We manufacture our own steel doors which can be made to measure as hinged or sliding panels. Timber doors are joinery made using mortice and tenon joints for additional strength

Optional Extras

  • Side Rails – Used to separate the roof sheet from the side ventilation which is very useful for crops requiring cooler temperatures. This gives you the option of a wind up side vent which allows you to create a warmer climate in winter and cooler in summer.
  • Cladding Fittings – Aluminium rails and gutters and timber side rails are available to fit the cladding material.
  • Base Rails – In timber or aluminium, to be used when the ‘trench and bury’ method is not suitable.
  • Crop Bars – Steel ties fitted from side to side or between gutters, give additional strength (against wind and snow loadings) and can be used to support crops and irrigation equipment.
  • Irrigation Systems – These can be incorporated into all structures. Overhead systems are generally attached to crop supports.
  • Doors – Doors are an essential part of a polythene tunnel. We manufacture galvanised steel panels clad in twin polycarbonate sliding doors. These can also be hinged. Very simple ruche-up flaps may also be used. Doors can be fitted into the dies of the tunnel on longer structures.
  • Ventilation Options – Wind up sides, doors or over-lintel vent panels.
