Butterfly House

This specially designed butterfly house uses 2 layers of polythene (twin skinning) to help conserve energy. A small pump inflates the area between the 2 layers of polythene to act like double glazing. Inside, a layer of aphid net protects the butterflies from sticking to the polythene. A special net that can be removed in autumn and winter is used as shading.

This tunnel is also unique in the UK, it is actually diamond shaped as all the hoops are 2.44m out of true.
